Swedish companies continue to demonstrate their long-term commitment to Ukraine - not only through economic cooperation, but also through meaningful contributions to social recovery and resilience.
Last week, Business Sweden Kyiv office together with the First Secretary of Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, Catarina Nilsson, and Managing Director Husqvarna Ukraine LLC, Oleg Mikhailov, visited Malyn Forest Technical College in Zhytomyr region, which trains specialists in forestry, wood-processing, agro engineering, land management, accounting, IT and horticulture.
During the visit, administration of the college, among others, demonstrated newly equipped classrooms, developed with the support of Husqvarna Ukraine, including specialized tools and materials that allow students to acquire hands-on skills aligned with real industry needs. In addition, a dedicated vocational training course for veterans is planned to launch soon. This program aims to equip former servicemen and women with new professional competencies, helping address the current shortage of skilled workers in Ukraine while also supporting veterans’ reintegration and social adaptation.
Husqvarna’s efforts are part of a broader mission to strengthen local capacity and empower individuals to rebuild their lives after war. For students, this is a direct and tangible example of how international businesses can serve as active partners in Ukraine’s recovery - not only by creating jobs and investing, but also by investing in people.
For Sweden, supporting social projects like this is both a responsibility and a long-term investment in a peaceful, prosperous Ukraine. It reflects shared values of inclusion, solidarity, and resilience. The continued engagement of Swedish companies in supporting educational institutions is essential, as these schools are training the future workforce that will drive Ukraine’s reconstruction.
This initiative is one of many steps being taken by the Swedish business community to stand with Ukraine -in its defence, in its recovery, and in building a more inclusive and resilient society.
